Tennessee Walking Horse - I want!

Found on Craigslist of Springfield, Here.
I love him! He is so cute! I am not normally a gaited person per say, but something about him is pulling my heart strings! My friend Tara is going to do an inquiry... fingers crossed!

Disney Custom Harnesses

My sister-in-law, Kristin, went down to Disneyland (or World, whichever one is in Florida) and took pictures for me of these neat custom harnesses for the Disney carriage horses. I thought they were pretty cool, thanks Kristin!

Here is Kristin and Sophie on the monorail (I think...)(Too Cute!)

Here is the monorail cat:

33 Truths About Horses

I thought this was really cute, sent to me by my friend Kelsey:

33 Truths about Horses

1. People who don't take care of their own horses will be the first ones to tell you how to care for yours.

2. You should never buy a cheap girth!

3. A handsome horse who's badly behaved will become a lot less attractive in about 15 min.

4. People who think they have nothing more to learn about riding, hit the ground the hardest.

5. Children and ponies are natural allies and often have identical dispositions.

6. The richest horse people often look the poorest.

7. The closeness of a horse is one of the sweetest smells in the world.

8. A solitary ride through the woods is more beneficial than six months with the best psychiatrist. (Love this one! I always say a 1/2 hour mucking the barn is as good as an hour on any shrinks couch!)

9. The worse a person rides the more likely they are going to blame it on the horse.

10. The best thing about going to the barn first thing in the morning is that horses don't care how you look.

11. If a dealer insists a horse is worth twice what he's asking he's usually worth half that much.

12. The best way to appreciate how another person rides is to get on their horse.

13. I can recognize another horse person no matter what town, city, state, county or country I visit.

14. You can never have too many hoof picks.

15. It is not always wise to argue with something that outweighs you by 1,000 pounds.

16. I'd rather have a horse with a perfect mind then a perfect head.

17. Eight hours is not too long to be in the saddle!

18. If you think you have left the water on in the barn you have, if you think you have closed the pasture gate you haven't.

19. When someone asks you if you like their horse always say yes

20. The happiest people I know own horses, dogs, cats and at least one deranged goat.

21. If you're looking for the perfect horse you will never own one.

22. Owning a horse can either make a marriage or break it.

23. I'd rather lose my Chap Stick than my curb chain.

24. You shouldn't talk about your first place ribbon to someone that came in second.

25. If someone says that horse has a little buck, it has a BIG buck.

26. If we need rain, schedule a show.

27. I've never warmed up to someone that didn't want to walk down to the stables.

28. A clean stable and a sparkling horse are among life's great pleasures.

29. A FREE horse is not a cheap horse.

30. No matter how badly behaved you are, your horse always gives you a second chance.

31. A expensive horse doesn't make a better horse.

32. I can't stand to have an empty stable.

33. Losing a horse can break your heart, but it will have been worth it.

Killuh E Memorial Service This Saturday

A memorial service will be held at 122 Park Central Square, in Park Central Gallery, in Springfield, Mo. Services will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 23.

In lieu of flowers, opportunities for donations to Eric's children will be made available. Please help honor his passing by bringing pictures and sharing memories.

Some of my favorite memories of Eric are of hanging out at him and Lauryn's house, watching movies, playing board games and being silly. Wearing a pair of Eric's way-to-big shoes to go outside to smoke... "There goes another winner"

RIP Eric "Killuh E'' Henderson

My old friend Eric passed away yesterday. He was like a brother to me. He left behind a lot of sad people. This is a picture Daniel took of Eric in Eureka Springs, AR, in front of a section of the Berlin Wall they have displayed there. I love you Eric, I will forever miss you.

Brrr!

I am not ready for cold weather!

I am not ready for my horses to look like this! Not ready!
As an update: Pete never had any infection, heat or abscesses from his puncture wound! Yea! Thank goodness. Margo is doing good, fat as ever. We did get to go ride this past weekend, at Hulston Mill. Tara and I had to turn back at one point when we heard quite a few guns going off over the next hill, and some redneck yelling at his hunting dogs... Lovely. This weekend is the 1st weekend of open firearm deer season here in Missouri, so trail riders beware! If it is nice enough out, Tara and I are planning to hit Wilson's Creek (no hunters allowed there) this weekend. Tara is going to let me try a cool new bareback pad she borrowed from a friend, so I am excited. I am going to try and take pictures if we don't get froze out or blown away!

It was a good run...

Well, my Dad was beat 59% to 41%. It is a good man who tries to change things, rather than sitting on the couch complaining... (I am also relieved that if I break down in the truck and trailer, Dad won't miss work to come rescue me!) Ha! Thanks Dad, you are still the best Dad a girl can have!
