I have become a bit of a bird watcher lately. There are a lot of different kinds I have never seen before around the farm. This is a Red Winged Blackbird. I have one who lives somewhere in my back pasture. Every time I ride back there, I see him sitting on the fence watching Margo and Me.
Last night I was riding bareback in the back field with Margo. We were moving along at a good clip, heading back to the house, when Margo flushed out a different bird from right under her nose. She gave a HUGE jump to the left, and I stuck it out bareback! Wheew, I thought I was coming off for a minute though!

Was it a Bobwhite? They are usually ground dwellers. Remember the babies we saw at Riverbend? Very cool birds.
No, I wish! They were cute! This was just some "regular" bird of some sort. :)
