Oh My Gosh!

I have been so busy!

Wednesday night, I rode three horses, which felt great!
Trying to leg up Raliegh for hunt season for Scott.
Legging up my own Margo to hunt (she has been off for a bit as I have been riding Big O so much)
And I rode Big O, who I am trying to build confidence with over fences, and he some how managed to jump himself out of both of his front shoes! Crap o la! So he is out until I can get his front shoes tacked back on. He will be wearing bell boots from now on.

Thursday night, I went over and worked with my dad on my horse trailer, which is looking AWESOME! I painted the roof. Can't wait until it is done and I can haul 2 horses at once!
Yay!

Tonight, I am out at the barn to do chores and am going to scrap botflys off my mare... fun!
I'm going to try and ride two horses everyday.

Also, trying to get a hunting habit together. I need a vest, a black hunt coat, brown leather gloves, and I'd like to get a leather sandwich case. Oh and a flask.

I'm excited to go Tuesday for a lesson with Amanda at Barb Joyces! My friend Tara has been taking lessons there and loves it! Cant wait!

Sunday, I'm delivering a kitten to Kara's and am going to drive Petey! Woohoo!

I can't find my camera anywhere since I packed for the last show, which got rained out :(

I want to take a picture of Jack to show how much weight he has gained and his leg looks so good! (Thanks Tara for the magic stuff!)

Anyway, I'm so happy to have horses! Wish I had more money though!

Busy Weekend

Rode Big O, with Amanda on Diana, at Cathy Drumm clinic on Sunday...
Worked with my Dad a bunch this weekend, redoing the inside of my trailer Saturday...
and Sunday, after my clinic, we built a sweet set of brush box jumps! (Me testing them out here...)

The Story Behind My New Horse Jack

My new horse Jack... (and Margo wearing western tack for a friend who rode her)

I got Jack when my friend Darcie asked if I might want a free TB. We went to look at him Saturday night and brought him home to Shiloh on Sunday.

He is 16.3, 3 1/2 year old gelding from the Mr. Prospector line. He raced, he had 5 starts but didn't win place or show in any. A guy bought him off the track in AZ and wanted to use him as an out riding horse at chuck wagon races. This was not a good fit for him, then he injured his leg.

He came to me underweight, with a capped elbow and some nasty proud flesh on his left hind cannon bone. He has already put weight on and his leg is healing nicely. I have also drained his elbow about 50% before it closed up again.

He is the sweetest boy ever. Darcie had him earlier this year and put 60 days on him, so she knows him and liked him and said she would help me get him going again. I can wait to get on him! I am trying to let his leg heal up a bit and let him gain a little more weight first.

He lives in the giant stud stall at Shiloh and goes out in a paddock during the day. He eats a lot! Love him!

Stuff 'n Junk

Margo and Jack are due to be wormed... Ivermectin/Praziquantel combination (Equimax) this month.

I need to go buy some more alfalfa cubes for Mr. Jack ,who has put on weight already! Yay! Also his leg is looking really good too. And even though I go to the barn EVERYDAY, no one in my family has ever come out to see my new barn or meet Jack... awww pout pout (Well, I guess Dad has come out to see the new barn, by default, as his truck was there... he did say hi to Margo though... :) thanks Dad)

Also, I am wanting to shop! (Besides boring stuff, like new work clothes, ugh..)I want: a new pair of field boots for me, a new hunt coat to fox hunt in this fall, a new or used snaffle bridle for Jack.

Horses!

Well, all I do now is work M-F during the day, then go to the barn, then come home and sleep, rinse, repeat.

Jack has been keeping me super busy! His leg is looking SO much better and he seems pleased with his life :) He is already gaining weight and I can't wait to start riding him!

Margo is doing great, we are showing Saturday, yea! We got our first blue ribbon together last weekend at a Sho-Me show in Nixa, thanks to Tara, I'm glad I went!

I have been riding some of Scott's horses: Raleigh, a huge grey Hanoverian hunt horse, who is on and off sore; and last night I rode "Big O" an imported Argentinan TB polo pony who is for sale. I love him! He went SO good! I made $20 clipping him, giving him a bath and riding him for 30 min! Woohoo! A buyer is coming to see him today.

I'm mucking Darcie (the reining trainer) stalls this week, as she is in Tulsa at the Ariat Reining Classic. Fingers crossed that she does well there! In exchange for chores, she is going to help me with Margo and Jack, woohoo!

I'm really excited about this fall, hoping to get to go fox hunting with Scott and Amanda a bunch. I need a new hunt coat and I really want a pair of field boots. Maybe for part of my birthday present... :) lol

Omg! Good Things are Happening!

WELL...

I just got promoted at work today and got a $2.20 an hour raise!!! WOOT WOOT! Hallelujah!

AND! Tara is taking Nikko to his first "real" show this weekend, with her trainer Sara! I'm SO excited about this!

AND! Come Sunday at 10 am, I will be cruising around an outside hunter course on my lovely mare with professional instruction!!!

Mateo Rode!

Love this picture that my Mom cropped and brightened for me... Margo is so pretty sometimes :)
Anyway, Mateo rode Margo last night! He did SO good! I was really proud. He got down steering, even using his legs to help, walk, whoa, and he tried a trot twice. He said he liked it and trusts Margo :) I think we are going to get him up again soon, next is posting! Heehee
