Robert Pattinson

It is hard to feel sorry for someone so good looking, but I do. (Sorry, not a 'horse' post, but I can't help myself)

Robert Pattinson plays Edward Cullen in the movie Twilight. Twilight is a vampire/love story, which makes me feel extra bad for the actor.

I saw the movie first (well, half of it, I had to leave b/c of a family emergency)and I must say, the first half was good. Well, as good as any teen-love-story type movie.

My friend Ryan bought the book, by Stephanie Meyers, and read it in two days. I borrowed it and read all 500 pages in one day. (Ha! I win) (Just kidding) I have to say, the book was better. I couldn't quit reading it. I had to know what happened next. :) The book is non stop sexual tension.

However, it started to lose me when the vampires played a game of baseball... kind of cheesy. Daniel, who saw the whole movie, said they played baseball in the movie too, and it was lame.

ANYWAY, the point of all of this is that I feel bad for Robert Pattinson. I am such a dork, that I am part of the reason. I put a picture of him on my computer as my background (I change it a lot) because I do think he is good looking (Don't tell Dan)

Well, since doing that this morning, I have had 3 (THREE!) students say "Is that Edward?" Good grief. I replied, no it is Robert Pattinson. Then I am told by one girl, who happened to be carrying the sequel to Twilight with her(I guess there are four books in all) that she has seen the movie 8 times. EIGHT TIMES?!?!

I about smacked her. Ha! Not really, but what movie have I watched 8 times? None that I can think of, oh wait, maybe Rocky Horror Picture Show, but that is different.

Anyway, it just made me feel bad for this actor, as the girl prattled on about him and vampires for, like, 5 min non stop.

I know girls get obsessed with guys in bands, movies, etc. I do the same (I have his picture on my desk top right now)(I know, I'm lame) But, this Twilight movie, you would have to see to understand (or read the book) His character is made to make girls swoon.

And he is a vampire in the movie. This is why I really feel bad for him. Vampire fans are a different lot. (I know, from my many years of going to Vision-Con, our local sci-fi "convention")

Vampire fans, once in deep enough, start to think that they are literally vampires. Soon they have the fake teeth (the really dedicated ones have their actual teeth filed down) Next thing you know, they are drinking blood. Whose blood? Well, I bet you five bucks most start with their own. :)

I just feel bad for the guy, having to not only have millions of regular swooning girl fans, but to also having the freaky vampire chicks as well... and if there are 4 books, who wants to bet there will be 4 movies? (I know the 2nd is in production now...)

Yikes. Anyway, that is the end of my rant.

(BTW, all pictures on my blog are stolen from the web, unless I took them myself)
