Take Apart Cart

Tires on old cart... Tires (bike wheels) off new cart. These wheels were not interchangeable anyway. After much thought and discussion on the COTH message board, I have been made a little nervous about using wire rimmed wheels for driving. (Pic stolen from COTH, used w/o permission)
I'd like to have motorcycle wheels or fancy expensive cart wheels. Sigh...(Its always something! But I want to be safe!)

Cart Deconstruction... wheels are off..

Seat came off (after quite a struggle!)
Seat will be remade new...
Wood came off... Naked cart!!
I was also told my new cart looked flimsy, but alas, we cannot all afford $2000 pony carts! Lol, I will just have to do the best with what I can. I am happy to have one that he fits in better, at least!

Sara, your carts are fine.

A little paint, repack the bearings, tighten the spokes on the wheels and you'll be set to go.

That is one thing I don't like about horsey people, some of them can be so dang snooty. I remember when you were a young girl a horsey woman told me that you would never be much of a rider unless you got a certain kind of jacket and pants...I told her she was full of crap, it doesn't matter what you wear or what you have, it's how much fun you have and how you take care of it.

Heck, your husband bush hogs with a tractor that is older than I am and I am almost 61!

Love ya!

Believe me, it has nothing to do with being snotty. It's a matter of safety.

You should see the cart I used to start my horse (hint: it was made from parts of a geo metro -- but it was well made, appropriately fitted, sturdy, and safe!).
