Weekend Horse Show Results

Well, this weekend was my and Margo and Tara and her horse Amber's first real show of the season. We had previously gone to one fun show and one show clinic.

So...
Margo and I had our halter class first. (Stock Mares at Halter) And... (drum rolls...) Margo won 3rd! 3rd out of 7 horses! Yay! I was SO proud! (And she is still super fat, so this is a good sign... If I can get her thinner... maybe 1st? ;) (I thought both of these pictures were pretty cute! Thanks Tara for taking them!) (Yee-Haw!)
Then I did the Adult Walk-Trot Western Pleasure. I was so proud of Margo! No spazing out, but she was a bit fast. We placed 4th out of 5 horses. (At least we didn't come in last!) :) I was pleased.
So, Tara had her class next... (Open Gaited Class) There were three horses entered in this class, one girl on her gaited pony and a competitive guy on his Foxtrotter. Well... Tara Won! Yay! 1st place! Don't they look fancy? "Like a rhinestone cowgirl... Riding off on her horse to star spangled rodeo..." :)
Finally, I did the Adult Western Pleasure (walk - trot - canter)
I just entered for fun/practice. (Margo's lope needs a lot of work)
But, I asked her to lope anyway, and she picked up both leads correctly!!! YAY! She didn't quit on me either. She was calm at the trot, never broke gait, she backed nicely, and was calm in the line up!
I am SO pleased with her! I couldn't believe how well she did! What a fine horse! :)
We place 4th out of 5 horses, so not the best, but again, at least we weren't last! Also, most of those horses are experienced show horses, so I couldn't be happier for our first 'real' show! :)

Fun! Tara and I were both really proud of our mares! :)
