Hmmm... How to stretch a dollar?

WELL, this Saturday is open schooling at Maple Ridge Farm in Ozark, MO.
I get paid Friday.

I will need $30- for open schooling AND gas to get me from my barn in Battlefield, to Maple Ridge in Ozark.

Then, next weekend is nuts. I already asked off Friday to go to the Cathy Drumm Clinic at Heritage in Mt. Vernon. So, I need $75 for the clinic AND gas to get from my barn in Battlefield, to Heritage Livestock in Mt. Vernon.

On Saturday (11-3) is a FREE (!) trail clinic at Valley Water Mill. Tara already signed up and I am going to try and get a spot. So, I will need gas to get from my barn in Battlefield to Valley Water Mill on the North side of Springfield.

(Ok, I guess this is the NEXT Sunday, the 14th.) Sunday is a SMHJA show at Stokely Farm in Billings. I think I will skip it, as I will be broke. (And I would rather do the Drumm Clinic)

So, I need $105- for open schooling and clinic fees and $100 (?) for gas? Crap. Maybe I can sell some plasma? Someone said it takes 5 hours the first time, but you make $50 each time you go... eye yi yi

Looking For Paint Stud, Service
I am thinking of breeding my Mustang Mare again, and I`m wanting a Paint in the end. So if you have a Paint Stallion that you`d breed please Send me a pic, and an E-mail and a price that you would charge... I`m not looking for bloodlines, or anything to be papered, the off spring will be horse that I have always wanted... Thanks...

OMG~ I could not stop myself. I had to email this person. Here is my *nice* reply...
"You should consider buying the horse you always wanted, rather than breeding a grade horse, that might not turn out to be paint.
The sell barns are full and horses are cheap. Please consider this.
Thanks! Have a nice weekend. :)"

Here, I found this person a horse...

Paint Filly - $100 (springfield, mo)

Here is another one...
3 yr old (must sell) - $150 (fair grove)

When you basically cannot even give away young grade horses, WHY would you want to breed more???

Also, the Springfield Livestock Marketing Center is having a horse auction tonight... You can pick up a yearling there for about $35 bucks. (sigh...)

I also came across this lovely...
apha palomino gelding
...blah blah blah, sale ad...
"BEWARE, JOSH BEIST IS A PRICK."
Ha-ha! I don't know who that is, but that is funny.

I am out of here until Monday, so have a Happy 4th of July!
Please remember to not hold fireworks in your hand, a la this guy... Yikes! Be careful out there! In fact, probably best if you skip fireworks, here is a fun word search to do instead. Print it out and pass it around. :) Hey, Chris's band is playing at Lindbergs on Commercial tonight, if anyone wants to go.

Whew, I am not going to have much time between class 5 and 8 to take off Margo's tack and change from my English outfit to Western... Good thing Dan is going... :D

This Weekend

I had to call 911 this morning!
There was a huge bull grazing on the shoulder of Interstate Hwy 44! He must of escaped his field. Yikes! Not safe! :)

Anyway... This weekend...

1st of all, Happy Birthday to my niece Sofie! She turns two today! :) She is super cute, even with the rat!

2nd, I am taking Margo to a horse show tomorrow! Yay! We are going to Brighton Saddle Club's western show. Fun! Here is the link to their show bill.

Also on Saturday, is a Southwest Missouri Hunter/Jumper show at Shadowbrook Stable. It starts at 9 am, my other show starts at 3 pm. Soooo... I was thinking, since I will have Margo all cleaned up anyway, maybe I will take her over there 1st and show in a couple of Hunter Hack classes... :) Sounds fun!

So, I looked up the SMHJA show bill (here) and found out that their classes are $15 each! Yikes! I don't think I can afford that! Brighton's entry fees are a much more reasonable $3 each, with a $15 cap! :) So, I guess there goes my ambitious plans to take Mags to two shows in one day...

Anyway, wish me luck!

Oh yeah, tonight is the horse auction at Springfield Livestock Marketing Center. Fun! I will probably stop there and have a look on my way home. :)

Also on Saturday...
Sho-Me Stock Horse Show in Aurora... Starts at 7 pm... Hmmm... Maybe I should go to this one instead? It will definitely be cooler... Link

Trail Rides and Shows

Tara and I were able to get out to Busiek yesterday and enjoy a nice trail ride.

Tomorrow is a little show at Brighton Saddle Club, I will be going and showing Margo in the halter class and walk/trot western pleasure. I might do the walk/trot/canter w.p. if there isn't many people there... I hope there is a small turn out! Margo needs practice! :)

Also, there is a Sho-Me show tomorrow in Marshfield, so I hope a lot of people go there instead!

Finger crossed... Wish me and Mags luck!

Horrible

Maybe okay for schooling or hacking, but can you imagine someone wearing this to a show?

Speaking of shows, Brighton Saddle Club is having a show/clinic this Saturday that looks pretty fun. Here is the link to their club website.
Here is the show bill...

I just remembered that Margo's Coggins is expired! Yikes! Hopefully I can get one before Saturday! Edited to add: I called Dake Vet and they can squeeze me in this afternoon! Woo-Hoo! Only $28, with the rush, I will have my Coggin's by Thursday or Friday afternoon. Thanks God!
Oh, and here is some more horribleness...

A plaid saddle? Link
